The ADVICE Press snapshot of the CPAN was taken
in late November, 1997.
For your browsing convenience,
PTF has uncompressed and unpacked most
of the smaller files.
To make room for this,
we removed some materials
(e.g., ports to other machines)
that are of little or no interest to Mac OS users.
- comp.lang.perl.announce -
Hypermail (HTML) versions of the news postings
which appear in the CPAN/clpa/ directory.
- PERLBOOK -
the standard documentation suite for Perl 5,
converted to Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.
- POD extracts -
HTML versions of the POD (Plain Old Documentation)
text from the CPAN's module area,
organized by author, category, and name.
- scripts -
Perl scripts collected by ADVICE Press,
pending the re-opening of the CPAN scripts area.
The MacPerl disc is optimized for use on the Macintosh.
It is written in HFS (Hierarchical File System) format,
allowing the use of Mac OS icons and file attributes.
Text files have been converted to use Mac OS line termination.
Symbolic links have been converted into aliases, etc.
Note:
The MacPerl CD-ROM is included as part of
MacPerl: Power and Ease.
